Everything Kinlough….

Located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Dartry Mountains, Kinlough is known for its picturesque scenery and with several rivers and the famous Lough Melvin residing here, there’s no wonder why people love Kinlough.  The seaside town of Bundoran is only a meer 2 miles away and Sligo is 20 miles away, making it a perfect rural location, but not too far from the larger towns.

Kinlough is part of the County Leitrim, moreover it borders several other counties with one crossing the border into Northern Ireland; Donegal to the north, Fermanagh to the north-east, Cavan to the east, Longford to the south, Roscommon to the south-west and Sligo to the west, making Leitrim a gateway to many other counties.

Early in the 18th century, Kinlough was very popular for supplying other surrounding areas with products and services.  However, this reputation was lost with huge numbers of residents emigrating in the 1950s and 1960s.  Today Kinlough is home to a few local shops along with offering numerous different services such as a solicitors, hair salon, mini bus hire, post office etc.
